Mini Lakefest!

On Thursday, August 6, my cousins, Neil and Letty, called to see if the annual Mayer Lakefest was on or off. I said as far as I knew, it was off. But, if they were up for it, we were going to be home this weekend! So...they came out Friday afternoon, accompanied by another cousin, Trent and his son, Caleb. Mom came over and we babysat Caleb while the others went out on the boat for some toobing, skiing and wakeboarding. Caleb only screamed about half of the time! That boy really loves his Daddy!

Here are some photos the boat people took:

Summer on the tube, trying to keep the water out of her face during take-off!:

This was the first time she rode the tube all by herself!

Neil takes a turn!

Hold on, Neil!

Woo-hoo!

Now it's Trent's turn:

He's getting some pretty good air!

Whoa...nice save!!

Now Trent's on the wakeboard:

The deadly serious "I'm concentrating" face:

Finally, a smile!

Back at the house, we were grilling some chicken:

Finally, Caleb could relax!

"Thanks, Dad, I coud use a cold one!"

Some pool time with cousin Neil:

And, back with Daddy:

Trying out the cool baby float:

Uh....not so much!

Saturday morning ski run:
Rich on slalom:

Nice one, Rich!

Neil on double skis:

Trent goes for doubles:

Nice wake jump!

Summer's turn...back on the toob!

After the ski run, we had some breakfast tacos and a nap. Late afternoon, we packed up for some Mexican food at Tamale King. Yum!
Summer with her burrito:

Cella (my mom) and Letty:

"Life partners" Trent and Neil, and their "love child", Caleb: (It was a joke, because of the way they were sitting together at the end of the table!) (The waiter overheard us and started laughing, saying "Sick! I did NOT hear that! We laughed and said, "It gets even worse...they're first cousins!")

Richard and me:

Cutie Caleb wearing Daddy's hat:

Back home in the pool, while Caleb napped before the evening ski run.

We (of course) neglected to bring the camera along, but after Caleb woke up, we headed out on the boat for some more toobing and Trent skiied again. Mom didn't go with us, though. We went over to Storm's on the lake, and chowed down on some burgers. Afterwards we did a little twilight cruise, then loaded up the boat and went to the house. Neil and Letty packed up and went home. They had been out of the country for a week-and-a-half, so they wanted Sunday to get all prepared for heading back to work on Monday. Trent and Caleb stayed unti Sunday morning. We got up and did an early morning ski run. Rich and Trent both skied, and Summer toobed again. Then we trailered the boat and headed home to get ready for church. Trent and Caleb took off about 9:30, to try to make it back to St. Hedwig (NE San Antonio) for church with his folks.

We had a great time, but we missed the rest of the family. Maybe next year, it'll be a big ol' Mayer Lakefest again!! We called this one "The Mini Lakefest", a.k.a. "Pond Fest."
Here's Summer's drawing of her favorite part of Lakefest:
Her on the tube!

Thanks for coming y'all! Hope to see you again soon!!

Great food, family, and of coarse with this heat a lot of time spent in the water.....can't ask for anything better than that!!
