Picnic in the Park!

On Wednesday, Grandma Cella decided it was a good day for a picnic! We headed out to Johnson Park in Marble Falls. They have a great playscape, and even a boat ramp and a place you can swim in the lake (we didn't!)

Summer on the playscape:

Mom starting the grill for hot dogs:

These ducks were waaaay across the creek when we drove up. By the time we got to our table, they had beat us there!

One of our "ducks" was a goofy lookin' goose!

We forgot BBQ utensils, so I got the pliers out of my car tool kit!

Time to eat! Yummm!!

Thanks for the great idea, Mom!

Dana and the grandmothers visit

Saturday morning, Dana came out for a visit. We spent the whole afternoon and evening out on the boat. The girls toobed all over the lake, we took the Horseshoe Bay "mansion" tour, we ate at a new hamburger stand on the lake, and Dana slalomed for the first time in at least 15 years! Naturally, the camera was home on the kitchen table the entire time! She and Rich went skiing again early Sunday morning while the girls were still asleep. I snapped a quick photo of Dana right before she left Sunday, just as we left for church:

After church, Super-Wonder Girls:

Sunday afternoon, the grandmothers came over for lunch and a visit.

Shaylee's mom ended up getting sick, so she stayed with us from Friday morning to Sunday evening! One last pose with the Supergirls before we took her home:

Misc Pix by Summer

Summer likes to take pictures of herself and Dixie with her camera. Here are a few from the month of July:

She drew this for Rich one day, when she thought she hurt his feelings:

Summer, wearing her "Wonder Girl" mask and letting Dixie wear her cape:

Dixie seems less than thrilled...

Apparently, Dixie doesn't have a great appreciation for being a superhero!

Poor thing!!

"Aw sheesh, Summer! I've about had enough!"

"I wish I was over there..."

Summer became very creative when she was grounded from tv:

She made herself a hat that doubles as a fan, out of coffee stirrer straws:

Dixie: "Free at last!!"
