Entry / Hallway

No work Monday, Tuesday, they got the entry, hallway, and part of the kitchen done!

Yes, the hideous wallpaper is on the list!

Sunday, October 19, 2008. Carving a Jack-O'-Lantern:

Scary, huh? She designed and carved it herself!

Llano Heritage Festival 10/18/2008

(I don't know why the text is so screwy on here. I tried to fix it and couldn't. Sorry!)

After Summer's soccer game Saturday (we won 6-1!!), we went to the Llano County Heritage Festival. It was a great day to be out enjoying the perfect weather! One of the "old-time" activities they offered was rope making.

Summer made her own rope!

And Daddy helped!

This is REALLY hard work!

Then, Mommy and Summer had to get out of a "rope puzzle." We never did.

LivRm Day 3

They finished the living room! Now all we have to do is to sand, stain and seal it!

Remodel Day 2

After losing a day to the rain, they finished the living room ceiling today! There's going to be a cedar "beam" in the center, and we'll still need to sand, stain and seal it all.

End of Day 1

They got about 1/3 of the way up one side of the ceiling!

Living Room Remodel Before

Living room ceiling before the work started. Cool fake styrofoam beams, huh?

The living room before we moved everything out:

In the middle of tearing out the beams: They started about 8:30 am.

The smooth ceiling after beams and popcorn are gone:

2:30 pm: The first piece of pine is installed!!

Kitchen "Before"

The brick wall. Rich has to chip away the bricks that protrude out, to make the whole face of the wall smooth and even. (Yippee...sounds fun and not messy, huh?)

Is this a dark kitchen, or what!?

Looking from the kitchen into the dining room:

The microwave center:

We should have workers here starting on Tuesday morning! I'll post updates as they progress...
